I am deeply touched by the support of Christine Elliott and all the teachers of La Mariposa Elementary School. I love working with you all. Thank you!
Kitchens, Long deserve vote
Two excellent candidates are running for Pleasant Valley School District’s board of trustees: Suzanne Kitchens and Kelly Long.
Suzanne had been an engaged trustee for 12 years. As in the 20 years of volunteer service to our schools before joining the board, Suzanne always goes above and beyond.
While her own children are now grown, she is a frequent presence at all PVSD schools. She talks with and listens to parents and teachers. She knows what is going on in our classrooms and with our children.
To further meet student needs, Suzanne has been a member of the California School Boards Association for many years. She currently is director for Region 11, giving voice to local needs and concerns when meeting with the state superintendent, state legislators and the governor. Suzanne has earned our vote.
Kelly Long is an organized, energetic and effective parent volunteer. With two young children attending PVSD schools, she cares deeply about quality classroom instruction.
A hallmark of her volunteer efforts has been a commitment to serving all children, supporting all teachers, engaging all parents in working toward excellence and opportunity.
Kelly is a natural and positive leader who inspires others to join in her efforts, whether it’s to ensure healthy lunches, create classroom gardens or work on fundraisers.
She will take a big picture view as we move into the future, informed by her own experience and her genuine capacity to listen and learn. Kelly has earned our vote.
